Justin Bieber to take Paternity Test in 2 weeks.

As soon as Justin Bieber returns from a European promotional jaunt in two weeks he will take a paternity test to prove that he did not father a child with a fan who has claimed the pair had a backstage tryst.

Bieber's spokesperson, Matthew Hiltzik, confirmed that the test has been scheduled. "I can confirm that the team has proactively made arrangements for Justin to be tested upon his return and we're going to hold everyone who is involved responsible." Bieber, 17, has denied that he is the father of accuser Mariah Yeater's four-month-old child and his team has promised legal action following the results of the test.

"It's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims," Hiltzik said in a statement. "We'll vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to protect Justin and to hold those involved with bringing this suit accountable for their actions."

Bieber — who was a big winner at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday night with wins for Best Pop and Best Male — appeared on the "Today" show on Friday to promote his just-released Christmas album, Under the Mistletoe, and addressed the situation. "I'd just like to say, basically, that none of those allegations are true," he told Matt Lauer. "I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim."

Bieber explained on "Today" that the logistics of her claim don't fit with his hectic schedule. "I think it's crazy because every night after the show, I've gone right from the stage right to my car," he explained. "So it's crazy that some people want to make up some false allegations, but to set the record straight, none of it is true. Never met the woman."

It was also reported last week that the incident could spark a statutory rape investigation by Los Angeles police because the woman was 19 years old at the time and Bieber was allegedly 16.

After he returns to the U.S. on November 17, Bieber will visit "Today" again on November 23 to perform a concert on the morning show. He is also slated to sit down with the ladies of "The View" that day

At least 69 people dead in Northern Nigeria sect Attack

Residents fearfully left their homes Saturday to bury their dead in northeast Nigeria following a series of coordinated attacks that killed at least 69 people and left a new police headquarters in ruins, government offices burned and symbols of state power destroyed.

A radical Muslim sect known locally as Boko Haram claimed responsibility for the attacks in Borno and Yobe states, with the worst damage done in and around the city of Damaturu. The group also promised to continue its bloody sectarian fight against Nigeria's weak central government, with residents nervously moving through empty streets, waiting for the next attack.

"There's that fear that something might possibly happen again," Nigerian Red Cross official Ibrahim Bulama said.

In Damaturu, the capital of Yobe state, a car bomb exploded Friday afternoon outside a three-story building used as a military office and barracks, killing many uniformed security agents, Bulama said.

Gunmen then went through the town, blowing up a bank and attacking at least three police stations and five churches, leaving them in rubble, officials said. Gunfire continued through the night and gunmen raided the village of Potiskum near the capital as well, witnesses said, leaving at least two people dead there.

On Saturday morning, people began hesitantly leaving their homes, seeing the destruction left behind which included military and police vehicles burned by the gunmen with the burned corpses of the drivers who died still in their seats.

Bulama spoke to The Associated Press by telephone Saturday morning from a common Muslim burial ground in the city as his family buried a relative and friend, a police officer who died after suffering a gunshot wound to the head in the fighting.

Officials anticipated a dusk-till-dawn curfew to fall over the town, though state officials repeatedly declined to comment on the violence. The violence destroyed federal offices, public buildings and an immigration office, said Aliyu Baffale Sambo, an official with Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency.

Nigerian Red Cross statistics showed at least 65 people died in and around Damaturu. Four other people were killed by four bombs in Maiduguri, about 80 miles (130 kilometers) east, officials said. One of those blasts detonated around noon outside an Islamic college, another alongside a road, local police commissioner Simeon Midenda said.

A short time later, suicide bombers driving a black SUV detonated their explosives outside the base for the military unit charged with protecting the city from Boko Haram fighters, military spokesman Lt. Col. Hassan Ifijeh Mohammed said. That blast injured several soldiers.

A Boko Haram spokesman claimed responsibility for the attacks in an interview Saturday with The Daily Trust, the newspaper of record across Nigeria's Muslim north. A Boko Haram spokesman using the nom de guerre Abul-Qaqa promised that "more attacks are on the way."

"We will continue attacking federal government formations until security forces stop their excesses on our members and vulnerable civilians," the spokesman said.

His comments come as human rights activists say soldiers have beaten and killed civilians while trying to search for the sect in Maiduguri.

Two suicide bombers detonated explosives inside vehicles in Maiduguri on Saturday night, but caused no casualties, police said.

Boko Haram wants to implement strict Shariah law across Nigeria, an oil-rich nation of more than 160 million which has a predominantly Christian south and a Muslim north. Its name means "Western education is sacrilege" in the local Hausa language, but instead of schooling, it rejects Western ideals like Nigeria's U.S.-styled democracy that followers believe have destroyed the country with corrupt politicians.

Boko Haram's attacks occurred ahead of Eid al-Adha, or the feast of sacrifice, when Muslims around the world slaughter sheep and cattle in remembrance of Abraham's near-sacrifice of his son. Police elsewhere in the country had warned of violence ahead of the celebration in Nigeria, a country largely split between a Christian south and a Muslim north. On Wednesday, police in Maiduguri had said they broke up a plot to bomb the city over the holiday.

Nigerian Pastor turns Teenage Daughter into Sex Slave

He started having sex with me in January and he did so repeatedly. He threatened me that I would die if I told anyone and that he was the only one God had directed to have sex with me," these were the words of 17 years old Eunice Sonoye after her father, Prophet Elijah Sonoye, was arraigned in a magistrate court for the wickedness he perpetrated on her.

Elijah Soneye is not only the father of 17-year-old Eunice Soneye, but also her feared tormentor. The 53-year-old was on 21 October dragged before Mr. A Adenariwo of Ota Magistrate Court, Ogun State, on a two-count charge of maltreating and inflicting grievous bodily injuries on Eunice as well committing indecent molestation and abuse on her.

The court was alarmed to see a frail Eunice with grosteque swellings and deep cuts all over her arms and body. The adolescent girl was helped into the courtroom by her mother, Rebecca, and older sister, Sarah. The looks on their faces spoke of their trauma. Few minutes after, the crowded court room was stricken with fear when Eunice, drained of strength and unable to stand the rigour of the proceedings, simply fainted.

Elijah was alleged to have sexually assaulted Eunice on several occasions, by fondling and sucking her breasts and asking her to massage his genitals. The scruffy looking Elijah pleaded not guilty to the charge and was asked by the magistrate to be remanded in police custody while the case was adjourned till 17 November.

When NEWS magazine visited Eunice in Ota, she lamented her ordeal in the hands of her father. Though she initially claimed that her father only molested but didn’t have sex with her, she later confessed that she said so for fear of stigmatization. She described Elijah, a purported prophet and founder of a Cherubim and Seraphim church called New World Covenant Embassy, as cruel and wicked.

She said her sexual enslavement in the hands of her father started when she and her sister, Rebecca left their mother three years ago, to live with their father, a former banker with defunct Savannah Bank. She said the inability of their mother, who is estranged from the father, to cater for them, compelled them to live with their father.

Unknown to them, it was a journey into seclusion, want and cruelty. Eunice, who had just completed her Junior Secondary School examination at the time, dropped out of school on the instruction of her father. She claimed Elijah told her God asked him to stop her schooling.

First to detect their father’s evil intention was Sarah, who suddenly showed up at their mother’s place. Sarah’s reason for leaving was her father’s alleged pestering for sex. She refused him. Soon after Rebecca left, Elijah deflowered Eunice and ensured that she was kept in the house as his ready sex doll.

“He started having sex with me in January and he did so repeatedly. He threatened me that I would die if I told anyone and that he was the only one God had directed to have sex with me,” she explained amid sobs.

Eunice told NEWS that when the situation became unbearable, she ran away from his house to put up with a woman called Iya Osun, hiding in the place for 15 days before her father found her out and forcefully took her back home.

At home, Elijah tied Eunice up for two days without food, constantly whipping her. On the pretext of going to ease herself, Eunice escaped from her father’s hell-hole and trekked several miles, from Sango Ota to Ifo.

Without any money or relative, Eunice sought refuge in a church after narrating her ordeal to them. Few days after, the church asked her to leave for fear of being accused of kidnapping her. She took refuge in another church, but was also asked to leave after seven days. With the help of a good Samaritan, Eunice returned to her mother, who she narrated her predicament to.

Speaking with the magazine, Eunice mother, Rebecca, said she left Elijah because he was cruel to her. “I dared not ask questions or hold any contrary opinion to his, he would beat me up mercilessly. None of my family members could visit me because he said he didnt want to see them and once threw out my mother around 10p.m,” she recalled.

Eunice’s sister, Sarah, corroborated her mother’s remarks, adding that their father was the devil’s incarnate. Rebecca cursed and wailed, wishing that her violated daughter gets justice. Rebecca bore Sarah, Eunice and a boy named Michael for Elijah.

Enugu Housewife Set Ablaze By Husband Dies

MRS Ifeaoma Egeonu who
was set ablaze by her husband, Mr.
Alexander Ndubuisi Egeonu, in
Enugu on October 1, has died.
She died at the National Orthopedic
Hospital, Enugu where she was
hospitalised along with her two
sons, Udochukwu, 3, and
Emmanuel, 6, at about 10 am
yesterday.
The deceased housewife, who had
seven months pregnancy at the time
of the incident, had delivered a
premature baby and was kept in an
incubator for some days before she
died last Sunday, October 23.
Little Udochukwu who was also
burnt in the incident had given up
the ghost at the hospital and his
body deposited at the hospital's
mortuary.
Alexander Ndubuisi Egeonu alleged
killer
Ifeoma's uncle, Mr. Louis Edeh, who
confirmed her death yesterday,
described the development as very
worrisome saying members of her
family had expected that she would
survive the disaster having battled
death for over three weeks.
Ndubuisi, a barber had after
sprinkling petrol on his pregnant
wife and two sons in the
Independence Day tragedy fled his
home but he was later arrested by
the police who took him into custody
since the past two weeks.
Ifeoma, who hailed from Amuri in
Nkanu West Local Government area
of Enugu State, had while on
admission lamented her plights in
the hands of Ndubuisi, whom she
had married for about seven years.
Owing to incessant dispute with her
hubby, Ifeoma and her two kids
decided to stay with her mother for
some time and she only decided to
visit her husband on October 1 to
celebrate the independence
anniversary with him.
Ifeoma who sustained severe
burns had narrated while on her
hospital bed how Ndubuisi set her
and the two kids ablaze that
faithful day.
"When he brought the fuel, I felt he
wanted to use it for his generator,
but he was telling me that, "people
are wicked; that the woman who
sells provisions opposite owed him
had refused to pay up; somehow he
managed to attract the same woman
to the shop telling her to talk to me.
"It was all confusing, but the next
thing he started pouring petrol
inside the shop and afterwards lit a
match, but the woman forced her
way out as he tried to close the
door on all of us. It was people
around that came to our rescue, but
I and my children were already
burnt. I thank God that we are still
alive," she recounted.
Eneh said her condition worsened
last Sunday after her premature
baby died, three days after her
first son, Udochukwu gave up the
ghost at the same hospital.
The six years old Emmanuel which
has become the only survivor of the
arson, has already been discharged
from the hospital as his condition
was said to be stable.
Although the police in Enugu said
they were yet to conclude
investigation into the barbaric act
by Ndubuisi Egeonu, who until the
incident was a barber in a
container shop located at No. 61,
Mount Street, Idaw River area of
Awkunanaw, in Enugu metropolis,
members of his deceased wife have
demanded that he should be brought
to justice to serve as a deterrent to
others who might engage in such
ungodly act in future.

NTA Cameraman Was A Spy, alleges Boko Haram

A purported spokesman for Nigeria’s militant
Islamist sect, the Boko Haram, has claimed
responsibility for the weekend murder of a
state television journalist, the AFP has
reported. The attack weekend was the first
targeting the media.
Nigeria Television Authority cameraman and
reporter Zakariyya Isa was shot dead
Saturday evening in front of his house
shortly after leaving a mosque in the
northeastern city of Maiduguri, where the
sect known as Boko Haram has carried out
most of its attacks.
“Zakariyya was not killed in error,” said
the emailed statement from Abul Qaqa, who
has claimed to speak on behalf of the sect a
number of times in the past.
“We killed him because he was spying on us
for Nigerian security authorities. The killing
was carefully planned and executed.
“We have ample evidence … that he was
giving vital information to security
agencies on our mode of operation that led
to the arrest of many of our members.”
There was however no evidence that the
journalist had acted as an informant, and
both his network and the secret police
strongly denied the claim.
The statement, written in the Hausa
language widely spoken in Nigeria’s north,
said Boko Haram “killed him not because he
was a journalist but for his personal
misconduct.”
It added that the sect would not hesitate to
“kill anybody that steps on our toes”.
The NTA manager in Maiduguri said he had
“no reason to believe that (Isa) was working
as a spy for the security agencies.”
“Zakariyya Isa was a dedicated and loyal
staff,” said Daniya Mohammed. “He was a
kind of person who could not hurt a fly. I
was therefore shocked and sad when I
learnt that he had been killed by some
gunmen.”
Marilyn Ogar, a spokeswoman for Nigeria’s
secret police, said Isa had not worked as an
informant on her agency’s behalf.
Boko Haram has been blamed for scores of
bomb blasts and shootings, mainly in
Nigeria’s northeast. It also claimed
responsibility for the August 26 bombing of
UN headquarters in the capital Abuja that
killed at least 24 people.
Meanwhile, a group that styles itself The
Nigerian Young Journalists Forum has
strongly condemn the killing of Alhaji
Zakariya Isa.
The group in a statement signed by its
President and General Secretary, Ayodele
Samuel and Zacheaus Somorin in Lagos,
yesterday described the killing as barbaric
and assault on the noble profession.
“We therefore called for immediate
investigation of the killing of Alhaji Isa, by
the federal government, while we urge the
Boko Haram sect to stop the killings of media
practitioners and indeed Nigerians in the
cause of their struggle”.

19-year-old girl in police net over alleged kidnapping

A 19-year-old girl,
Miss Tina Enebere, is now
cooling her heels in police
custody for allegedly
kidnapping five-year-old Gift
Agbasoga and his three-year-
old younger brother, Emmanuel
Agbasoga.
Vanguard investigation
revealed that Miss Enebere stole
the two brothers from
Immaculate Heart of Mary
Catholic Church, Orsu Obodo,
Oguta local council area of Imo
State.
Luck, however, ran out on the
teenage kidnapper when she
tried ferrying her victims
across Oguta Lake in a speed
boat without Gift, who started
crying profusely to be taken
along.
“The young boy’s pathetic cry
attracted the attention of
commercial motorcycle
operators at the scene. They
innocently stopped the girl from
crossing the lake without
getting to know the true story,”
a villager told Vanguard.
The villager said the girl
claimed that she was taking the
boy to his father but when the
motorcyclists contacted the
parent, Mr. Chinonso Agbasoga,
he denied knowledge of any
such arrangement.
Agbasoga thanked God for
miraculously intervening in the
near mishap, stressing that it
would have been double
tragedy, having lost his wife
earlier.
Reacting to the incident, the
Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ernest
Muforo, wondered why such a
young girl would conceive such
a dastardly act, adding that
only a forthnight ago, some
hoodlums attempted to kidnap a
six-year-old boy, Onyedika
Ekegha, also from Orsu Obodo.
The Police Public Relations
Officer, PPRO, Mr. Linus
Nwaiwu, a deputy
superintendent of police, DSP,
decried the rising cases of child
theft in the state, pointing out
that the law would take its
course, if and when the
perpetrators were arrested.

Boko Haram kills NTA cameraman

Suspected members of a radical Islamist sect
shot dead a state television cameraman in
Maiduguri Saturday, union and military
sources said, in what could be the first
assassination of a journalist by the sect.
Boko Haram, whose name means “Western
education is forbidden,” has been blamed by
authorities for near daily shootings and
deadly bombings around Maiduguri, the
capital of Borno state, which sits in the far
northeast corner of Africa’s most populous
nation on borders with Cameroon, Chad and
Niger.
The sect’s attacks usually target the police,
military, prominent religious figures and
drinking spots but in recent weeks
journalists have been threatened by the
group, which says it wants sharia law more
widely applied across Nigeria.
Alhaji Zakariya Isa, a journalist working
for the government-owned Nigerian
Television Authority, was killed by gunmen
who attacked him at his home in Maiduguri.
“Zakariya was shot dead at his house in
Bulunkutu Gomari by suspected Boko Haram
this evening. We shall go to claim his body
tomorrow for burial,” said Abba Kakami, the
Borno state chairman of the Nigerian Union
of Journalists (NUJ).
“The NUJ will certainly take all the
necessary steps to protect its members from
further attacks.”
A member of the joint military task force
operating in Borno state confirmed the
incident, but asked not to be named.
It was not clear if Isa had been specifically
targeted by Boko Haram.
Boko Haram is growing in ambition and
sophistication and authorities in Nigeria and
abroad believe it has strengthening ties
with al Qaeda’s north African wing.
It claimed responsibility for Nigeria’s first
known suicide bombing in August, driving a
car full of explosives into U.N.
headquarters in the capital Abuja, killing 24
people.
It threatened reporters recently after the
group claimed spokesmen who weren’t part
of the sect were being quoted in the media.
The group has an ill-defined command
structure and many people claim to speak
on its behalf.

D’banj fights Kelly Hansome over alleged copyright infringement

The stage appears set for a
court battle between two
Nigeria’s music artistes, award
winning hip-hop star, D’banj
and Kelly Hansome over
alleged copyright infringement.
A statement from Mo’ Hits
Record (D’banj’s music label)
media Company, Media Image
Managers revealed that the duo
would be heading to the court
room soon if all efforts to make
Kelly Hansome to withdraw the
new song, a remix of D’banj’s
I’m Feeling Good, which
Hansome had released on the
Internet, fail.

Mo’ Hits alleged that the
D’banj’s song, I’m Feeling Good,
was leaked in the process of
recording and it finally found
it’s way into Kelly Hansome’s
hands who quickly did a
‘remix’. “It shows how slippery
the nation’s entertainment
sector is,” the star’s publicist
said in the statement.
The statement read: “Do take
notice that Mo’Hits Records
Limited is the lawful owner of
rights to the recorded material
(I’m Feeling Good) being touted
by one Kelechi Obinna Orji
a.k.a. Kelly Hansome or
persons acting for him.
Mo’Hits Records Limited has not
granted the said rights to Mr.
Hansome or to anyone else. Mr.
Hansome’s possession and
offering of the material at issue
is unauthorized, unjustified,
inexcusable and downright
illegal; the subject of current
civil and criminal proceedings.”
Mo’ Hits advised anyone not to
“publish, offer, play, copy, post
or howsoever treat with the
said material if or when it is
offered to you.”
Hansome through his lawyer
had denied any wrong doing.
“If that position does not
change, Mo’ Hits will be left
with no choice than to seek
redress in the law court but in
the intermission, any third
party that does not want to be
dragged into this litigation
should desist from promoting
the work in any form,” the
statement warned.

MY SEX SCANDAL STORY- GOV CHIME

Enugu State governor, Mr. Sullivan
Chime, has at last broken his silence
on the rumour that he had an affair
with his wife’s younger sister and
got her pregnant. He said that
nothing like that ever happened.
According to the governor, “no girl
is nursing a baby for me.”

There’s a rumour that you
impregnated your wife’s sister.
What do you have to say?

Well, you can see I am here; you
did not even finish the story; that
was not the only thing they wrote.
They wrote about the non-existing
female Permanent Secretary living
behind the Government House. I
have tried to find out if there is
anybody that fits into that
description; no such human being
exists. But they have written about
it. They wrote how I was beaten up
mercilessly. When you hear such
stories, you don’t even come here to
ask me questions; you go and
verify.
The young lady they talked about,
if you are interested to know, I am
sure you will be seeing her around.
I can tell you sitting down here that
she is one of the most decent human
beings I have ever seen. Why they
chose to rubbish her, I do not know;
if they had written about, maybe,
some other people, it will make
sense, but not that particular girl. I
am not talking about myself; they
can write anything about me; after
all, you were there when I came to
seek your support to be the
governor. So, everything is not
siren; they can say all sorts of
things about me. But the truth is that
no such thing happened; nothing
resembling it happened; nobody had
any baby boy for me. As a matter of
fact, the young girl being talked
about is getting married this
December; she is getting married to
an Onitsha man and was actually
staying with the young man when
they alleged she was in my home in
the village nursing a baby boy for
me. So, it is all nonsense.
I also learnt that I bought Piccanto
cars for all the girls in Enugu; I
don’t see Piccanto in Enugu; the car
is not popular in Enugu; and they
have not been able to point at least
one such beneficiary; I will like to
know them. You stay in Enugu and
hear such stories; the first thing you
should do is to look around; you
look for the Piccantos, know if they
exist. Some even said it is Piccanto
Jeep. I don’t know of any car like
that. They are just writing all sorts
of nonsense; taking advantage of
the Internet to publish nonsense.
It’s unfortunately and regrettably
that some local magazines have
published those articles. My lawyers
are at work on those ones we can
reach. You can write anything on
the Internet. You are on your own.
That is the price we pay for
occupying such offices; so
whenever you see me, try and
make me happy because so many
things make us unhappy.

Osaze: Why I didn’t play wellagainst Guinea

West Brom striker Osaze Peter
Odemwingie has given a hint on
why he failed to lift the Eagles
during their Nations Cup
qualifier against Guinea.
Osaze squandered a couple of
begging chances in the first
half of the October 8 match. He
came under intense criticism,
for his dismal outing. And as if
that was not enough, the
former Bendel Insurance of
Benin striker poured abuse on
fans and sports journalists on
twitter, he later apologised.
But after scoring in West Brom
win over Wolves last weekend,
Osaze said in interview that it
was his misunderstanding with
coach Samson Siasia that made
him lose his composure.
“I had a little dispute with the
coach and he has a lot of
support in Nigeria so there was
a little negative reaction to it,”
said the player
He added that he was stunned
by the load of criticism heap on
him after the game.
“It’s been tough. My country is
so big and we didn’t qualify
for the African Nations Cup and
football means so much to
Nigerians.
‘There were critics looking for
reasons and I felt a little bit
over-blamed for the team’s
failure to qualify. It was a
collective effort.
‘I think the personal criticism
was more about my relationship
with the manager. I think that’s
what caused this situation.
‘I was always appreciated and
supported in the national team
because I play and give 100%
for the team.

MUAMMAR GADDAFI IS DEAD

Muammar Gaddafi has been killed
after National Transitional Council
fighters overran loyalist defences
in Sirte, the toppled Libyan leader's
hometown and final stronghold.
"We have been waiting for this
moment for a long time. Muammar
Gaddafi has been killed," Mahmoud
Jibril, the de facto Libyan prime
minister, told reporters on Thursday
in Tripoli, the capital.
Crowds took to the streets of Tripoli
and Benghazi, the eastern city that
spearheaded the uprising against
Gaddafi's 42-year rule in February,
to celebrate the news, with some
firing guns and waving Libya's
new flag.
Abdul Hakim Belhaj, an NTC military
chief, said Gaddafi had died of his
wounds after being captured on
Thursday.
The body of the former Libyan
leader was taken to a location
which is being kept secret for
security reasons, Mohamed Abdel
Kafi, an NTC official in the city of
Misrata, told the Reuters news
agency.
Earlier, Abdel Majid,
another NTC official, said the
toppled leader had been wounded in
both legs.
The news came shortly after the
NTC captured Sirte after weeks of
fierce fighting.
"Thank God they have caught this
person. In one hour, Sirte was
liberated," a fighter in the town
said.
Al Jazeera's Tony Birtley, reporting
from Sirte, said Libyans
there celebrating the beginning of a
"new Libya".
"This is bringing a form of closure,"
he said. "Gaddafi stayed true to his
words, that he would stay in Libya
till the end.
"It was surprising to many that he
did actually stay here in Sirte - it's
taken such a bombardment in the
last 13 days. Nothing could survive
in here for very long. I think they
were starved of food, starved of
ammunition, and finally there was
nothing to do but to run".

Baba Suwe to slam N1bn suit on NDLEA, as continued detention raises concern

YORUBA movie actor, Babatunde
Omidina, also known as Baba Suwe,
is planning to file a N1 billion suit
against the National Drug Law
Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over
his arrest and detention.
Baba Suwe was arrested by the
NDLEA on October 12 at the Murtala
Muhammed International Airport,
Ikeja, Lagos and is still being
detained.
The NDLEA had alleged that the 53-
year-old actor had ingested
substances suspected to be hard
drugs, but there has been no
evidence to substantiate the claim,
even after the suspect has
defecated thrice under close
observation.
His lawyer, Mohammed Bashir, told
the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in
a telephone interview, on
Wednesday, that a fundamental
rights enforcement suit would be
filed on his behalf within the next
five days.
Bashir said: “We will be filing the
suit before a Federal High Court in
Lagos between now and Monday.
“We will be asking for N1 billion as
compensation for damages suffered
by him due to his illegal arrest and
detention, as well as the
embarrassment and defamation
done to his reputation as a result of
the incident.”
The lawyer further told NAN that
NDLEA officials had prevented him
from meeting physically with Baba
Suwe since his arrest a week ago.
“I have visited the place twice since
he was detained but was turned
back and prevented from seeing my
client. This denial of access to my
client is another violation of his
fundamental human rights,” Bashir
said.
While most workers from the various
aviation agencies, who spoke on
condition of anonymity, are
blaming the NDLEA for refusing to
release Baba Suwe after nothing
was found in his excreta, they are
of the opinion that he should
institute a legal action against the
NDLEA while others said the agency
should be allowed to follow due
process without any sentiment.
Those who have sympathy for the
actor based their argument on the
reasoning that if Baba Suwe
actually ingested drug, he should
have excreted same and that it
would have affected his health by
now.
Baba Suwe was nabbed at the Lagos
airport after the Soter RS scanning
machine donated to the NDLEA by
the United States three years ago
during the screening of outbound
passengers marked him for
ingesting drugs.
While the controversy rages, the
NDLEA officials seem to be
overwhelmed as to the next line of
action to take if the comedian does
not excrete drug the fourth time.

Despite the drama, the NDLEA,
through its spokesperson, Mitchel
Ofoyeju, insisted that Baba Suwe
would remain in its custody until
every step was taken.
Ofoyeju had said: “I can confirm
that Baba Suwe is still under
observation. He excreted for the
third time last night and no drug
was found. But he remains under
observation.
“It will not end at the third
excretion, because it depends on
body composition. For some people,
it takes more time, more excretions.
It really depends on the body of
each individual.”
The Director-General of NDLEA, Mr
Femi Ajayi, had also in a television
interview said that according to
standard practice, a drug suspect
must test negative at least three
times to convince anti-narcotics
agents that he is innocent.

iPhoneApp Finds Wife With Another Man

When Apple released its new iOS 5
operating system to go with its
iPhone 4S, it touted a new app
called "Find My Friends" as a great
way to track and meet up with
friends. If they agree, you can see
their locations on a map on your
screen.
But the app's enterprising customers
are apparently already finding
other uses. If the online posts
appearing on a chat forum at
MacRumors.com are for real, "Find
My Friends" may have already
claimed its first marriage.
Saturday night on MacRumors, a
man saying he lived in New York
City posted this:
"Divorcing wife. Thanks iPhone 4s
and Find My Friends.
"I got my wife a new 4s and loaded
up find my friends without her
knowing. She told me she was at
her friends house in the east
village. I've had suspicions about
her meeting this guy who live
uptown. Lo and behold, Find my
Friends has her right there.
"I just texted her asking where she
was and the dumb b---- said she
was on 10th Street!! Thank you
Apple, thank you App Store, thank
you all. These beautiful treasure
trove of screen shots [sic] going to
play well when I meet her ... at the
lawyer's office in a few weeks.
"thankfully, she's the rich one."
It has not been
determined whether
the story posted on
MacRumors was, in
fact, authentic, and
the man did not
immediately reply
to a request from
ABC News for
comment. But more
than 100,000 people
have viewed the
posts, according to
MacRumors. More
than 300 of them
replied with
expressions of
sympathy, skepticism and --
this being the
Internet -- a few
less-than-savory
jokes.

VC's ADVISE SENATE AGAINST SCRAPPING OF POST-UME

Vice-Chancellors under the aegis of
Association of Vice-Chancellors of
Nigerian Universities (AVNU) have
written to the Senate on the legality
of the post-Universal Tertiary
Matriculation Examinations (UTME)
test.
The Senate described the post-UTME
test being conducted by tertiary
institutions as illegal, threatening
to outlaw it.
The vice-chancellors are moving to
ensure that the Senate does not
prevent universities from
conducting post-UTME tests.
AVNU Chairman and Vice Chancellor,
University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) Prof
Ish-aq Oloyede spoke to reporters
yesterday in Ilorin, the Kwara
State capital, he said vice-chancellors had
requested the Senate to hear their
side of the story before taking a
decision on the post-UTME test.
His words: “We have heard that the Senate is
threatening to outlaw post-UTME,
but the Senate is informed enough to
hear from all the parties before
taking its decision.”

E! NEWS PRESENTER HAS BREAST CANCER

TV presenter Giuliana Rancic has
been diagnosed with breast cancer
at the age of 36.
The E! News host has revealed she
discovered she had a tumour while
undergoing her third round of IVF.
The presenter broke the news to
viewers on The Today show in the
Us on Monday morning.
Rancic has chronicled her attempts
to get pregnant on her reality show,
Giulana & Bill, with husband Bill
Rancic, the season one Apprentice
winner. Two in vitro fertilization
treatments failed. On the season
finale several weeks ago, they
were shown trying one more time.
But this morning on Today, the E!
red carpet host revealed that her
doctors had other news for her.
"Through my attempt to get
pregnant for the third time, we

stages of breast cancer. It's been a
shock. A lot of people have been
asking, are you pregnant? But
sadly, we've had to put that off."
Rancic, said that when they went
to do the third round of IVF, a

it."
She added, "I will be okay, because

3 WOMEN ARRESTED FOR RAPING 124 MEN & COLLECTING SEMEN.

Three Zimbabwean women, namely:
Rosemary Chakwizira, 24, Sophie
Nhokwara, 26, as well as Netsai
Nhokwara, 24, have been arrested
and are presently in police custody
for apparently kidnapping, raping
and even collecting sperm of some
men at gun point.
The three women usually visit night
clubs and exciting areas to look for
their next victims, who are mostly
men with no means of
transportation. They offer the naive
men a ride, but then drug and take
them to remote areas in order to
complete their evil acts.
Surprisingly, 33 utilized condoms
that contains semen was discovered
in the bag.
A police detective said: “So far,
the 3 have denied raping men and
have said they’re prostitutes who
find themselves so busy with clients
that they don’t have time to get rid
of the used condoms. They said they
meant to discard the condoms.”
Investigations reveals that semen
was “selling like hot cakes” in
nearby South Africa where a
condom full of Sperm could possibly
sell for US$400.
Money ritual is a common thing in
Africa and most of these victims end
up dying due to the evil nature of
the ritual. Wonders shall Never Cease!!

RIM offers Blackberry users apps as apology

In a statement released this morning
the company said that its users
would get their choice of apps free
of charge as an "expression of
appreciation for their patience". This
might suggest that the firm missed all
of the negative comments made by
its users last week, not to mention
the suggestion than many of them
were looking to jump ship to
alternatives, including Apple's
Iphone 4S.

"Our global network supports the
communications needs of more than
70 million customers," said RIM Co-
CEO Mike Lazaridis. "We truly
appreciate and value our
relationship with our customers.
We've worked hard to earn their
trust over the past 12 years, and
we're committed to providing the
high standard of reliability they
expect, today and in the future."

Named applications include SIMS 3,
Bejeweled, Texas Hold'em Poker 2,
Bubble Bash 2, Shazam Encore, Photo
Editor Ultimate, and Vlingo. If those
do not impress you, and who could
blame you, RIM said that its
enterprise customers will get one
month of technical support free.

NDLEA places 9 Nollywood stars on watch-list

It is no longer news that celebrated comic act, Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe was arrested on Wednesday while allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine out of the country. What is, however, of interest to many now is that cocaine is yet to be found in his system.
Following his arrest, the agency disclosed it had placed nine other Nollywood stars on the watch-list. The nine stars, according to sources, cut across both English and Yoruba film genres, and are said to have either carried drugs in the past, associated with drug barons or are drug users. Baba Suwe’s arrest brings to three the number of Nollywood stars arrested within five years for drug offences. Wunmi, whose real name is Hassanat Akinwande Taiwo, was arrested in 2006 while on her way to London. She excreted 92 wraps of cocaine, while another Nollywood star, Prince James Uche, was arrested in March 2007 and excreted 1.336kg of drug.

SIASIA MUST GO- YAKUBU

Blackburn Rovers
striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni believes
that Samson Siasia should be fired
for failing to qualify the country to
the Nations Cup. “When you don’t
get the result, the coach has to go.
That’s football. Siasia didn’t get the
country to the Nations Cup, while
Shuaibu Amodu and Christian
Chukwu did and they still got
fired,” said Yakubu in an
interview. “The manager did not do
well even after all the power and
support he received. He did not help
the team. We should therefore look
for some one else to try his luck.
Stephen Keshi can do the job.”

‘The Yak’ has not featured for Nigeria since his unpardonable miss in last year’s World Cup match against South Korea. He has reportedly cut off contact with Siasia even when the coach tried to reach him when he took over the national team in November. However, he insisted he has not quit international football.

POST UTME TEST IS ILLEGAL- SENATE

The Senate Thursday declared the post University Matriculation Examination (UME) illegal. It therefore resolved to beam its searchlights on Nigerian universities that may ignore the directive to scrap the examination.

According to Sen. Heineken
Lokpobiri (PDP) he noted that since
JAMB is alive to its responsibilities as
provided by the law, there should
be no reason whatsoever to subject
candidates to another round of
illegal tests of grave cost and its
other attendant consequences.

Abdulmutallab, who acknowledged working for al Qaeda and never denied the allegations, entered the plea against his attorney's advice on the second day of his trial. He stands to get a mandatory life sentence for the 2009 attack that aimed to kill nearly 300 people on Christmas Day in the skies above Detroit.

HON. PATRICK REACTS TO FUEL SUBSIDY

I have read with acatalectic disgust, governments asinine and puerile ratiocinations attempting to justiceate the proposed removal of subsidies from petroleum products. It has asseverated that it’s intentions is guided by the need to checkmate the odoriferous excesses of a machiavellian and mephistophelean cabal and I have said to myself, what a shame? What a self indicting admittal of the failure of governance? What an hocus-pocus?

What an anathematous disdain for it’s citizenry? Must the people now bear the brunt for governments ineptitude, inefficiency and pusillanimity in squaring up with these economic philistines and fat cows? I feel even more nauseated and vexed that the Governors Forum has posthaste conferred an apocalyptic imprimatur on this genie. Let’s not forget that majority of these same Governors had earlier called for this state of affairs as a condition sinequanon for paying the minimum wage. What an opprobrium? What a deprecable descent from the sublime to the ridiculous? It’s up to us all to put this Presidential and Gubernatorial genie back into the bottle but are we prepared?

Rihanna Named Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive

Rihanna isn't one to shy away from controversy -- or from showing a little skin. And after her summer of scantily clad onstage outfits and provocative dance moves during her tour, it's not hard to imagine how she was voted Sexiest Woman Alive by Esquire. In the magazine's newest issue, she chats about acting
sexy, letting go of her anger toward Chris Brown, and more.

On her sexy stage persona:
"Honestly, even if it comes across sexual, it has to be a part of my subconscious thought. It's never deliberate in the rest of the show. I don't even really ... I could see 'What's My Name?' -- the dancing is pretty sexy. 'Rude Boy.' But I don't know. I guess people find different things sexy."

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPER EAGLES' FAILURE- T.B JOSHUA

The man of God predicted that we won't qualify for Nations Cup...and we didn't. Some people are blaming him. Pastor T.B Joshua is having none of that. He tells encomium magazine:
Nobody can claim to love Nigeria more than I do. I only tell people what God revealed to me. I can't control it. During the ministrations two Sundays ago which was televised live, I said God revealed the outcome of the encounter to me which was not favourable to Nigeria. They should check my track record. All my predictions on Nigerian football have been accurate simply because I love football and I always pray about it before the match

SIASIA AND THE PLAYERS ARE TO BE BLAMED- IKPEME

Nigeria Football Federation technical department chieftain,Dr.
Emmanuel Ikpeme, has put the blame of Super Eagles
Non qualification for the 2012
African Cup of Nations on the laps of
the coach, Samson Siasia and the
players. He said the failure
has not affected the
image of the NFF in any way.
He claimed that even though the NFF
is disappointed that the Eagles did
not qualify for the tournament, the
image of the NFF is not dented and
they have no questions to answer.
Dr. Ikpeme did admit though, that
the NFF has not had a good year
because of the distractions
occasioned by the frequent court
cases they have been drawn into
and the internal squabbles that
have become a mainstay of the
organisation. He also said that
everything was done to ensure that
the Super Eagles qualified for the
African Nations Cup and that the
technical committee provided
everything the coach and players
needed to qualify for the
tournament. He said,
“We did everything
within our power to help the team
qualify. The blame should be on the
coach and players.”
Reacting to the call by a section of
football fans and stakeholders for
the head of Samson Siasia he said:
“the same fans that clamoured for
his employment are the ones calling
for his sack. He should have known
that they would call for his head if
he failed. That will not affect the
decision of the technical committee.
We will receive his report and then
make a decision afterwards.”
Nigeria failed last Saturday, to
qualify for the African Nations Cup
for the first time since 1986.

CHOREOGRAPHER LABELS BEYONCE A THIEF

In an interview
with Belgian radio station,
Studio Brussel, choreographer
Anne Teresa Keersmaeker was
asked how she felt about
Beyonce copying her work and
this was how she replied,
“I didn’t know anything
about this. I’m not mad,
but this is plagiarism. This
is stealing. They took
pieces from Achterland
and Rosas danst Rosas.
Including the dresses and
a remake of the school of
Van de Velde. It’s a bit
rude, I must say. What’s
rude about it is that they
don’t even bother about
hiding it. They seem to
think they could do it
because it’s a famous
work.”
“Am I honoured? Look, I’ve
seen local school kids
doing this. That’s a lot
more beautiful.” Well, i guess we'll just have to wait and hear from Miss B.

OSAZE BLAMES T.B JOSHUA FOR FAILURE

Super Eagles Striker Osaze Odemwingie has blamed the prediction of Prophet T.B Joshua for Nigeria's failure to qualify for next years Nations Cup. In a chat wit reporters after the match, Osaze said:

Yes, I would say I am sorry to Nigerians for not playing according to expectation and I believe I did not play well in the match. But the prediction of Prophet TB Joshua really affected us. We thought we could see him and see how he could overturn the negative prediction but the officials came with another prophet who prayed for us and told us that all was well. But in all we did not do our own bit of the job well as players and we are not happy that we won’t play at the forthcoming Nations Cup.”

Days before the match, T.B Joshua predicted that Nigeria will not qualify for the Nations Cup.
